S.W.A.T. is Survival Wilderness Adventure Training.

Southwest Trekking in conjunction with Tucson Parks and Recreation and PHDEP, Public Housing Drug Elimination Program are working together to get kids out into nature. To share with them the adventure that nature has to offer. We, Southwest Trekking and The City of Tucson understand the importance of giving the children of the community an opportunity to experience what so many take for granted. The staff of Southwest Trekking and S.W.A.T. have taken several young adults from the ages of 9 to 16 years of age on mountain bike outings. Sharing with them the excitement and sense of exploration that the area has to offer. Southwest Trekking and the City of Tucson work on other projects to educate and share with the youths of Tucson
. Hike, Bike and Spend the Night has been a great success all participants. Ten youths and tem significant others, parent; mom or dad, single or married, grand parent, uncle or caring guardian join these youths for two days in the remote back country of southern Arizona. Hiking, biking and spending the night under the stars. We at Southwest Trekking believe in the education of these kids the importance of experiencing the outdoors. We will do all we can to continue exposing as many youths as we can to the rewards of outdoor adventures.
